In Android-Land we have the SpannableStringBuilder which, while complicated and poorly documented, does actually do all these things….

Html.fromHtml(htmlString); is nice too.

  10. pblair said: The intermediate that I’ve found is CATextLayer. It lets you use NSAttributedStrings somewhat, and is MUCH friendlier than CoreText. If you haven’t played with CATextLayer much, it’s worth looking at.
